The name of the complex is MerabelloApartments and Villa Merabello. The name is interwoven from our family name “Meramveliotakis” and is slowly fading with the history of the island of Crete.
Τhe bay of Merabello located on the east side of Crete played a significant role on housing and activities for the residents.
The history of Merabello dates back to the 13th century A.D. in Lasithi where a Genovese pirate, by the name of Enrico Pescatore, built a fortress οn a hillside and named it MiraBello (which means beautiful view in Latin).
The view from the fortress was so unique and the fortress itself was so magnificent, that the name Merabello was given to the bay and to all region of Ag. Nikolaos.
The Merabello apartments and Villa Merabello are located 10 kilometres west of the city of Chania in Agia Marina. Αway from everyday disturbance on a hill surrounded by the natural environment of the area. The view of the bay of Chania and the overwhelming Lefka Ori or White Mountains is unique. Our accommodations, the natural environment and our hospitality will make your trip and memories exceptional.
Furthermore the complex is very close and easily accessible to the beach, to the beach bars or taverns of Agia Marina (only a 5 minute walk). While our visitors will enjoy any excursions or sights for seeing, that the prefecture of Chania has to offer.
